Welcome to Chromatic Echoes 555 — Where color speaks what words cannot.

My Story

Trista McLean — Founder & Creative Wellness Director

"Every once in a while the universe reminds me why certain things resonate long before we understand them."

I didn't start Chromatic Echoes 555 because I had it all figured out. I started it because I survived something that tried to erase me — and art was the only language that could hold what words couldn't.

For years, I lived inside a reality that wasn't mine. Narcissistic abuse doesn't just hurt — it rewrites your identity. It convinces you that your voice doesn't matter, that your perception is wrong, that you are too much and never enough at the same time. The gaslighting doesn't just confuse you — it damages the brain. Literally. The nervous system rewires itself around fear, hypervigilance, and survival.

When I finally got out, I didn't recognize myself. But I could still create. Color still made sense when nothing else did. A brushstroke could hold rage without judgment. A canvas could receive grief without flinching. Art became my first safe space — before therapy, before community, before language caught up to what my body already knew.

"Where rupture becomes ritual. The rhythm of becoming."

Chromatic Echoes 555 exists because I needed it to exist — and because I know I'm not the only one. This platform is for every survivor who has been told their pain is too much, their art isn't "real," or their story doesn't matter. It does. You do. We do.

CE555 is built on three truths: creativity is a lifeline, not a luxury. Community heals what isolation broke. And survivors deserve to thrive — not just survive.

The name itself carries meaning. "Chromatic" — the full spectrum of color, emotion, and experience. "Echoes" — because healing reverberates outward, touching others in ways we may never see. "555" — a number that symbolizes transformation, change, and the courage to step into the unknown.

Today, I'm building CE555 from the ground up — developing programs, digital infrastructure, and collaborative opportunities that help people move forward through creativity, connection, and practical support. We're a nonprofit-in-progress, and every step forward is an act of reclamation.

If you're here, you belong here. Whether you're a survivor, an artist, a healer, or simply someone who believes in the power of creative expression — welcome.
